Original browser puzzles & daily games

Block Puzzle

Block Puzzle is a free browser puzzle where you place block pieces on a 10×10 board and clear full rows and columns to keep space open — there's no gravity and no timer, the run ends only when none of your three current pieces fits. GameStand's daily mode deals every player worldwide the identical deterministic piece sequence (reset at midnight UTC), so daily scores are genuinely comparable; retries are free and your daily best is what counts. No download, no signup.

Easy to start, brutal to master: every piece you place is space you owe the board. The daily run's piece order is the same for everyone — when you share a score, it was earned on exactly the same deal as everyone else's.

Dealing today’s pieces…

How to play

  1. Tap one of your three pieces to select it, then tap the board: the piece lands with its top-left corner on the cell you tap. Hovering previews the footprint (green fits, red doesn't).
  2. Fill a complete row or column to clear it. Clears score big, and multiple lines in one placement earn a combo bonus.
  3. When all three pieces are placed, you draw the next three from the day's sequence.
  4. The run ends when none of your current pieces fits anywhere. Retry freely — in daily mode your best score of the day is kept and shared.

Rules

  • The board is 10×10 with no gravity — pieces stay exactly where you put them.
  • Pieces cannot rotate; every orientation in the set is its own piece.
  • Scoring: 1 point per cell placed, 10 points per cleared line, plus a combo bonus of 5×(lines−1)² when one placement clears several lines at once.
  • The daily piece sequence is identical for every player and resets at midnight UTC; the archive picker holds the last two weeks.
  • Practice mode deals an unlimited random sequence and never affects your daily best or streak.

Scoring & streaks

Placements earn their cell count, cleared lines earn 10 each, and simultaneous multi-line clears add 5×(lines−1)² — so a double clear pays 25 line-points and a triple 65. Your daily best survives retries, and playing any daily run extends your on-device streak.

Strategy tips

  • Guard space for the big pieces: the 3×3 square and the five-length lines end most runs. Keep at least one open 3×3 pocket and one clear lane alive at all times.
  • Build toward double clears. Filling a row and a column that intersect pays the combo bonus and opens two lanes with one placement.
  • Place large pieces first when a fresh trio arrives — small pieces are your finishers, not your openers.
  • Avoid checkerboarding: scattered single holes are wasted space only the 1×1 can fix, and you can't count on drawing it.
  • Edges and corners first is a good default — central space is the most flexible and worth saving.

Difficulty

A casual run takes 3–10 minutes. Early board states are forgiving; the skill ceiling is in mid-run space management, when combo setups compete with survival. Daily scores around a few hundred points are solid; past a thousand you are playing very well.

Controls

  • Tap or click to select a piece and place it; hovering the board previews whether the piece fits.
  • Pieces that no longer fit anywhere are dimmed in the tray.
  • Restart run starts the same day's sequence over (daily best is kept); the picker above switches days or to practice.

Accessibility

Every board cell and piece is a real button with a descriptive label, placement uses a predictable top-left anchor rule rather than drag-and-drop, fit/no-fit previews pair color with position, and the layout keeps contrast in both themes without horizontal scrolling on phones.

Frequently asked questions

Is the daily piece sequence really the same for everyone?

Yes. The day's sequence is computed deterministically from the date, so every player draws identical pieces in identical order — that's what makes shared scores comparable.

Can pieces be rotated?

No — classic block-puzzle rules. Every orientation that exists in the set appears as its own piece in the draw.

Can I retry the daily run?

Yes, as many times as you like. Your best score of the day is stored on your device and shown alongside your current run.

How does the combo bonus work?

Clearing several lines with a single placement adds 5×(lines−1)² on top of the 10 points per line — a double clear adds 5, a triple adds 20, a quad adds 45.

When does the run end?

When none of your three current pieces can fit anywhere on the board. There is no timer and no move limit — space is the only resource.

Does it work offline?

Once the page is loaded, the whole game runs in your browser — a connection is only needed to load the page.
